Researchers discovered that men frequently avoid reporting domestic abuse due to embarrassment, apprehension about backlash, treating the incident as a private affair, and worries regarding their credibility. The College of Public Health notes that while data indicates nearly half of men experience intimate partner violence, a significant portion goes without assistance.
The investigation analyzed nearly 1,200 individuals across various racial and ethnic backgrounds to better understand these obstacles. Experts emphasize the necessity for programs that account for cultural and gender differences to improve support accessibility for all victims.
